The Dovre Railway was opened in 1921 and runs between Oslo and Trondheim. The railway line leads through the breathtaking Gudbrandsdalen valley and over the mighty Dovrefjell mountain range.
It is 548 km long and offers some of Norway’s most beautiful national parks, mountains and scenic attractions.
The whole trip from Oslo to Trondheim takes around 7 hours, and the train has frequent departures during the day. The train also runs as a night train with bedrooms.
The Dovre Railway also stops in Dombås. Here you can switch to the Rauma Railway that goes to Åndalsnes.
