After two years of Corona-related absence, I was finally back at the royal palace today. The “Barnetog”, the parade of schools (usually around 60,000 participants) was the largest I have ever seen. Incredible crowds were also on the move in the city. You could see how much the Osloers have missed their Barnetog over the past two years.
We were already in the mood for this special day at breakfast: there was pavlova cake in the morning! Of course I was equipped with a 17.mai-sløyfe and ate ice cream and cotton candy, just like a “real” Norwegian should on that day!
Here are some pictures from the palace square.
